Pray
From Genesis we know that God created the heavens and the earth. And God, said, "Let us create humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth and over ever creeping thing that creeps upon the earth . . . and God saw everything that he had made, and indeed it was very good." Genesis 1:26 and 31
As human beings we have been given the wonderful and awesome task of preserving the beauty and goodness of God's creation. All that we have, our very lives and the earth, are the creative work of God. They are entrusted to us for future generations. In gratitude, we praise God for the gift of life in all its forms and we care for all creation—the earth and all people—as prayerful and faithful stewards in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Peace Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred,let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair,hope;
Where there is darkness,light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O divine master, grant that I may not
So much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
In pardoning that we are pardoned,
And in dying that we are born to eternal life.
